SYM have been manufacturing motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks and parts since 1954, including a joint venture with Honda to produce the Civic 5 door sedan and various motorcycle parts.

In 2002, (SYM) began a technical joint venture with Hyundai Motors to become its sole distributor in Taiwan and to manufacture the Hyundai Getz car.

The company now employs over 2400 people and is the only company in Taiwan to manufacture cars, motorcycles and scooters.
